Dean announces late August convention date

DNC chairman Dean announces a late August 2008 convention date:

Howard Dean today announced that the 2008 Democratic National Convention will be held Monday, August 25 through Thursday, August 28. The late August convention date will allow the Democrats to host their convention after the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Thank you for the well-presented delegate tracking charts, and for keeping them updated. As a republican,may I just say that it will be a real pleasure watching Hillary and Obama tear each other to peices for the next few months, so I hope the race continues to be close. Perhaps the dems will learn from this, and come up with more of a winner-take-all system like the republicans have. If the party bosses/ super-delegates wind up deciding who the democratic nominee is, I would have to say that that would be a most un-democratic result....

By the way- the "Why Mommy and Daddy are Democrats" teddy-bear children's books being advertised here are just plain creepy. Political indoctrination for pre-schoolers? It's unfortunate that the big, freindly ol' teddy-bears are against school-choice and against vouchers. It's too bad that millions of poor little baby-bears are forced to remain in failed public schools where they will graduate not knowing how to read, write, hibernate, or find honey when they grow up....The potential for humor here is nearly endless...
