Today is the FEC's Q3 Contribution Deadline

WE'VE MOVED! Democratic Convention Watch is now at http://www.DemocraticConventionWatch.com

Puttin' out a yard sign and bloggin' on the Internets are nice - but they are not enough.

To truly change our country, to have elected officials who stand up for what we believe in, our candidates need your help making their case to the voters. Either by volunteering your time to make phone calls or knock on doors, or - at the minimum - by making a financial contribution to the campaign.

For a list of candidates who need help, I recommend checking the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's Red-to-Blue web page. This is a program which seeks to support Democrats who are running to turn red districts blue. You can find the DCCC link here.

For other than federal candidates, you can also visit the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee or the web page of this great guy running for president.

I'll also make a personal plug for my friend Bev Perdue who is in a tough race to retain a Democratic Governor's seat in North Carolina. This is a state which hasn't elected a Republican Governor but twice in the past 100 years, but it hasn't been easy, either. Let's remind the voters that real Carolina Blue is the Democratic kind.

Yes, it's a rough economy - but it doesn't take much to make a big difference. You can donate anywhere from $1 on up to the legally allowed limit. I have given to a number of candidates already, will give a little bit more today and I encourage others to do the same.

In an age of Internet fundraising, even modest contributions make a big difference as evidenced by the millions of small contributions given to the campaign of Barack Obama.

Got a favorite candidate that you'd like others to consider contributing to today? Leave a message and a link to the candidate page in the comments section!

UPDATE:
The deadline is today, September 30th and you have until midnight tonight (in your time zone) to make a contribution.

United Airlines at Denver Airport: DNC Convention Get Ready For Lines!

WE'VE MOVED! Democratic Convention Watch is now at http://www.DemocraticConventionWatch.com

I love United Airlines and have flown them since I was two years old. But currently, United is faced with the same challenges that other carriers face. As the official airline of the DNC Convention, United is on the hook to perform well.

The last time I was in Denver for the Invesco visit, there was an enormous customer service line unlike any I've seen before. In this video, I explain how you can avoid that problem. There are several steps:

1) Plan ahead and know what flights are coming in and out.

2) Come to Denver early, like the 23rd of August or the 22nd.

3) Take the Red-Eye. Avoid on-peak hour travel.

4) Get the United customer service number and save it. It's 1-800-864-8331 for domestic flights, and 1-800-426-5561 for Spanish language persons, 1-800-426-5560 for Asian speaking persons, and 1-800-323-0170 for persons who may be deaf or blind.

There's no reason why your trip to the DNC Convention can't be a good one. Plan ahead. See you there.

And the winner is...

WE'VE MOVED! Democratic Convention Watch is now at http://www.DemocraticConventionWatch.com

Last month we told you about the DCCC's Match It By May Convention Contest. Today they announced a winner and rolled out their next contest for a chance to win a trip to Denver in August.

With the 2008 Democratic Convention set to commence 100 Days from today, my friends at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) are excited to announce the winner of the DCCC Match-It-By-May Contest. Congratulations to Stacy Fredericksen from Menlo Park, California. Stacy will be traveling to Denver in August to be a part of this history-making Convention.

Thousands of DCCC supporters like you took part in the Match-It-By-May Contest. The excitement and energy was outstanding. So much so, that we think a fellow DCCC supporter should join Stacy in Denver by entering the DCCC's 100 Days Till Denver Convention Contest.

That's right, the DCCC is offering one more chance to win tickets, flight and accommodations to the 2008 Democratic Convention in Denver, August 25th -- 28th. Do you want to join me in Denver for the Convention? Well, enter to win, it's easy!

This is your opportunity to make sure we have the resources we need to win back the White House and strengthen our majority in Congress. This is going to be a history-making year and, with support from people like you, we have already won three special election victories in a row.

We think we can win big in November too. But, we know it's going to take an extraordinary commitment from thousands of DCCC supporters to get the job done.

DCCC to hold Convention Raffle

WE'VE MOVED! Democratic Convention Watch is now at http://www.DemocraticConventionWatch.com

The DCCC knocked one out of the park with this idea.

Not a candidate for president? Didn't get elected as a delegate from your state? Not to worry. You still may get a seat at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

For $35, you can buy a chance to win tickets to the convention, airfare to and from Denver, and hotel accommodations from Sunday Aug. 24 through Thursday, Aug. 28.

The raffle is being run by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which raises money for Democratic members of the House and Democratic candidates for the House.

"Can you picture it," the committee asks in an email to supporters. "The Democratic energy...and the promise of a historic nominee who will at long last restore the promise of America's future...and you can be right there when it happens." - McClatchy

And here it is... courtesy of Speaker of the House (and superdelegate) Nancy Pelosi.
The Democratic Convention in Denver is going to be so exciting. And, because of all you've done to support Democratic candidates, I want you to have the chance to be there in person.

I'm honored to serve as Chair of this history-making gathering. From the opening gavel right through Thursday when our nominee delivers an historic acceptance speech, it's going to be a remarkable week.

You can win the opportunity to be right there in the Convention hall in Denver, Colorado when it all happens. Simply match your last gift of at least $25 or more by May 1st and you'll receive an official entry for flight, hotel and accommodations to the Democratic Convention, Sunday, August 24th thru Thursday, August 28th. And every time you make a contribution for the same amount before the end of the month, you'll receive another chance to win.

Enter our Match-It-By-May Convention Contest!

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the engine driving change forward, but we must win the White House and strengthen our Democratic majority in the House to fully implement our New Direction agenda.

So I am asking people like you -- who have gone online before to support our Democratic candidates -- to please step forward again and match your most recent donation before the end of April.

We're calling it our Match-It-By-May Campaign. With thousands of people acting over the next six days, we'll have the resources to keep our 2008 victory plan on track. It's time for you to act again. If you Match-It-By-May, we'll have the time-sensitive financial support needed to win the tightest, most highly-contested races of 2008.

Enter the Match-It-By-May Convention Contest for a chance to see history in the making.

On to Denver,

Nancy Pelosi
Speaker of the House
Since the DCCC is blowing the NRCC away right now maybe they'll pass some of the cash over to the DNC.
