Missouri, Delaware and Florida add-ons picked

WE'VE MOVED! Democratic Convention Watch is now at http://www.DemocraticConventionWatch.com

Missouri picked its 2 add-on superdelegates today:

The state committee of the Missouri Democratic Party picked its final two supers today, and those slots went to four-term Attorney General and likely gubernatorial nominee Jay Nixon and state auditor Susan Montee.

The superdelegates are unpledged, meaning they are free to pick either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton. Montee has endorsed Obama, but Nixon has not indicated a preference.

In the clip below, Rob Carver of Delaware says "I would say my role is that of a volunteer" in the Obama campaign. Well he may still be a volunteer, but Carver is now the new add-on superdelegate from Delaware, and he has been added to our Obama list.

Florida's add-on superdelegates are Alex Sink, Steve Geller and Dan Gelber. No word of endorsements yet.

Update 4/6: North Dakota's add-on has been picked.

Will Montee be added to the count since I see there's good confirmation? Also, what about the one from DC who we know was for Obama, but you didn't have necessary evidence? Anything new with her?

Brad, looks like they did add one of the Add-Ons for Obama. I think it was at 2 for Obama this morning -- I'm guessing it is Montee but don't see where it says so.

Delaware picked Rob Carver. He's an Obama supporter. Google "Rob Carver" Obama, and you'll find a number of sources.
Here's one:

How can we tell if the administrators saw this so they can update the numbers?

Be patient. I am sure Matt or Oreo will update the numbers soon. Just give them time.

So we're just waiting on Florida for today.

I'm sorry. They've been named.
Unpledged "Add-on" Delegates:
Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink (Hillsborough)
Senate Democratic Leader Steve Geller (Broward)
House Democratic Leader Dan Gelber (Miami-Dade)

Just to let you know. Delaware has selected Rob Carver as the add-on. Carver is a known Obama supporter.

We added Montee to the Obama column this afternoon. (We left a comment on the endorse list, but not here). We'll get all the other add-ons added to the appropriate places this evening.

Politico now counts Alexander of D.C., as well!

Alex Sink's husband Bill McBride endorsed Clinton, but I have yet to find anything from Sink herself. We've seen a few marriages split their endorsements before (the Rangels come to mind) so this certainly cannot be taken to reflect Sink's views. Still I thought it of interest.

Carver's been added to the Obama column.

Brad said...

Thank you sir. What about Alexander? Politico has now added her to their list. I think there's sufficient evidence she's for Obama.

Matt said...

We still need a quote from Alexander. Politico's standards are looser than ours, and I'm sure they got their information from the same articles we saw, which are all just lists of endorsements. We're sure she is an Obama endorser, but she does not yet meet our standard for listing.

That's cool, Matt. By the way, is maintaining this website a real job for you guys, or is this just a hobby? You guys do a great job. If you don't get paid, you should!

something about Steve Geller:

he voted for Edwards...

"I’m trying to protect the sanctity of the ballot, not to help Clinton and hurt Obama or help Obama and hurt Clinton,” said Geller, who said he voted for John Edwards. “1.7 million Democrats voted."

Brad-We're just a group of amateur bloggers, and we all have real jobs in real life. Thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated.

Dan Hannaher has been selected as the add-on super from North Dakota. He's a definite Obama supporter!

Not sure it it's been confirmed elsewhere, but a Montana TV station reported last night that superdelegate Jean Lemire Dahlmanto would join Rep. Margarett Campbell to endorse Obama:

"Beartooth NBC reported Sunday evening that another superdelegate, Democratic committeewoman Jean Lemire Dahlman, would vote for Obama.

The Tribune could not reach Dahlman to confirm her decision."
