Commercial Interruption about the Republicans

WE'VE MOVED! Democratic Convention Watch is now at http://www.DemocraticConventionWatch.com

There isn't much to poll on during the convention as there are WAAAAY too many choices than can fit in my 10-choice limitation.

However, rumour has it that John McCain is going to announce his veep choice on Friday, perhaps to take the spotlight off the fact that on Friday he's turning 72. So I've prepared two polls -- one, who you ***WANT*** McCain to pick, and second, who you think he ***WILL*** pick. And your choices could be very different.

Romney is a total DB and "slick rick," but he'll get the nomination. I think it'll be the PERFECT pick for McCain's two-faced, backsliding, swiftboating smears.

I want McCain to pick Mike Huckabee to upset the Club for Growth crowd, but not hurt Obama. (What is another white male conservative from the South going to do to help McCain?). I would fear a choice of Ridge (PA) or Crist (FL). Romney may be able to help in Michigan, so I would like him to not have it either. Jindal, Fiorina, Palin, Powell, Rice would muddle the diversity argument so I am hoping McCain avoids them.

It looks like McCain's picked Sarah Palin. Very interesting...

It is very interesting............ Pretty hot looking, governor for only 2 years. In a debate, Biden might have trouble "beating up on a girl". Old man as president, possible 1st woman as president. Imagine the possibilities. I keep going back to the thought...... "if not Hillary, WHO, if not now, when?" Well girls, John has the WHO. Help us all.

All politicians have minor scandals--some connection with an unsavory character, an old allegation that was never proven or disproven, or some accusation of bending to lobbyists.

In Palin's case, though, it seems a bit more serious:

A current investigation by the state legislature does not generally lead to being a VP candidate.

According to Rasmussen polls, she is very popular in Alaska, though, so maybe she can nail down those 3 electoral votes for McCain. I have to say, a Republican's in trouble when he's trying to figure out ways to make sure he carries Alaska...

Intrade.com is extremely confident (right now, 97.6%) that Palin is the pick. Which would be trouble for Obama after not picking a woman (Hillary or no) for his own VP. I hope Palin's scandal has some legs because otherwise this could be very bad for Obama.
