Wasilla's Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman has endorsed John McCain for President.
Unfortunately for John and Sarah it's not a daily so we won't put it on our Newspaper Endorsement List. Obama leads 220-75.Choosing the leader of the free world is an important responsibility, one we all share Nov. 4.
Electing a new president of the United States is heady stuff and should never be taken lightly. For Alaskans and voters in the Mat-Su, this year’s general election will also be historic as we have the privilege to vote on a presidential ticket that includes a local, home-grown candidate.
Since her announcement Aug. 29 as Sen. John McCain’s running mate on the Republican ticket, Gov. Sarah Palin has dominated the political headlines. From her personal life to her sudden rise into the national spotlight, America and the media cannot seem to get enough Palin.While the clamor over Palin has been revealing and entertaining, it’s time for voters to focus on the choice we have to lead the United States for the next four years.
We endorse John McCain as that leader.

You have to admit that the McCain campaign has been inefficient, weak and divisive. No thinking person would seriously hope for a McCain/Palin presidency. You can't seriously want that for America! All you have to do is listen to what the candidates are talking about- fear, hate etc versus hope, change and self-reliance.
If you are not in the KKK, I challenge you to educate yourself on McCarthyism and the early Adolf Hitler rallies. I guarantee you that you'll see these McCain/Palin rallies in new light. It is a dangerous turn that McCain and Palin have taken and a true shame 'cos this is after-all AMERICA- "land of the free, home of the brave", with "all men created equal".
It IS time for change. Vote Obama/Biden on Tuesday. It's a vote for hope and not fear, for healing and not hatred.
I'm willing to bet that YOU would qualify for tax breaks under an Obama economic plan, as would Joe "the plumber". It's sad to see so many people fighting against someone that is so well positioned to help them.
