Well... I have a confession to make. I am a registered Repubican. Of course, that didn't keep me from voting Kerry-Edwards in 2004 or supporting Ben Nelson and Jim Esch in 2006. I am really a nonpartisan moderate, but it has traditionally been helpful to be registered as a Republican in Nebraska to vote in the primary elections. I was very disappointed when Tom Osborne did not recieve the gubernatorial nomination a few years ago. Our curent governor, Dave Heineman is an uninspiring hack. Locally, Omaha has been doing much better since the Democrats took over the Mayor's office with Mike Fahey, but I am concerned about what will happen in our city elections in the spring. Fahey is not running for reelection.
