OK, here's my prediction: the RBC will make a decision that most of us feel is fair, but that Yammer and Aunt Jean will denounce with some colorful, albeit confusing language.

The primaries go as planned and all the SD's weigh in. Then, when all the variables are known, Hillary will appeal the RBC decision to the Credentials Committee and it will not be over AGAIN.

Sorry to sound so bleak.

Trinity United Church of Christ

Obama mentioned his church during his appearance with Oprah. It's the 'Trinity United Church of Christ'.

It is very alarming. Barack Obama is a member of this church and is running for President of the U.S. If you look at the first page of their Web site, you will learn that this congregation has a non-negotiable commitment to Africa. No where is America even mentioned. Notice too, what color you will need to be if you should want to join Obama's church? Does this surprise anyone?

Doesn't look like his choice of religion has improved much over his Muslim upbringing. This guy wants to rule America while his loyalty is totally vested in a black Africa !

I cannot believe this has not been all over the TV and newspapers. This is why it is so important to pass this message along to all our family and friends. To think that Obama has even the slightest chance in the run for the presidency is really scary.

Now that's what I call good information. Not "good" because it is pro-Obama, but "good" because it is useful.

Mt prediction is that the option chosen by the RBC will be half votes for both pledged and supers for both MI and FL.

That would be scenario 3 here at DCW.

What those numbers do not include is the "uncommitted" MI delegates already selected. Of the 36 already selected it appears 24 are solidly for Obama.

If one adds those (half) then BHO needs 89.5 delegates to clinch and HRC needs 241.5.

Once the 3 primaries are over BHO would have about 40 more delegates needed and HRC would need 190 (IMO).

Math and popular sentiments (polling) still favor Senator Obama

When Hillary commented that "Should she be in the kitchen baking some cookies?" I was in agreement. I felt she should bake some for Obama.

Hillary's Cookie Recipe

2 eggs of her face
1 cup of artificial sweetener
2 cups of melted butter (they need to be very slick)
3 tsp soda (very bitter)
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp ground chili pepper
1 tsp fresh minced jalepeno peppers (for the hispanic voters support).
salt
1 1/2 cups of flour sifted over & over again

Beat well. Drop on to baking sheet, bake at 350 10-12 min or until browned and cooked.

She should then deliver them promptly while still warm and serve with some Honest Berry ... Tea.

Thanks for posting one of the many viral emails about Barack Obama. I've read it before and was not surprized that you simply pasted it here rather than comment on it. Have you ever had an original thought of your own. I doubt it. What this viral email aims to accomplish is to reach the ignorant people who won't actually navigate to the church's website but will accept on faith that since the message tells them they should, everything they say about it must be true. However, if anyone should actually check, they will see that this viral email, like all the others, is completely and utterly false. Sorry that you are so frightened of Barack Obama but It's not surprizing. Barack Obama stands for true American ideals and true American patriotism. Remember that America is the land of the free and the home of the "brave." A simpering coward like yourself may have been born in America but you have no idea what it means to be an American.

You know, I really agree with you, but it's sooooooo tempting. The thing is that most people, at least those blogging, seem to have made up their minds. Statistics and logic don't influence them at all.

I have to admit that Yammer holds a special place in my heart. I think it's the way he uses metaphors and idioms in ways that make no sense.

The room for the RBC will hold either 800 or 3500 if they open up an adjoining room.

Peter said...

I agree RobH

I think we will see some supers endorsing daily, probably between 1 and 3. But, i know of a lot of superdelegates ready to endorse shortly after MT/SD. I think that is a wise move, we don`t need Clinton claiming that she was pushed out by the supers. Obama will win SD and MT probably with a double digit margin if nothing special happens between now and tuesday, I don`t think Puerto Rico will influence any voters in SD and MT. If Obama wins SD and MT as predicted, Clinton will not have any credibility if she "attacks" the superdelegates who endorse Obama and put him into a majority of total delegates.

RBC will not change things drastically. The only possible way where Clinton can take this to the convention and have an ounce of credibility is if she wins PR, SD and MT with clear margins. She probably wins PR which won`t influene anyone at all (neither superdelegates or voters) and her winning MT is not likely, Obama was ahead with 17% in the last poll. We don`t have any new polls from SD, but Obama has won every single state in the region with a clear margin. He also have more money to spend and have the support most major "players" in SD including McGovern, Johnson and Daschle. The margin in the only poll I have seen was 8%, I would bet it is at least twice that now.

And how is it fair to the rest of us voters who waited under the rules to reward the voters of states that voted early?

dsimon said...

jean: dsimon,
In referance to the house and senate.
If Obama doesn't think he CAN win he totally avoids the issue. He doesn't even go there, including states.
So he doesn't need how may states?

I still don't see how his handling of MI and FL has any bearing on how he will deal with the House and Senate. First, he's visited MI several times now and he'll probably win it in the general. Second, candidates routinely don't go to states that are obviously out of reach, and yet they still deal with their delegations in Congress. So I really don't understand your point.

The main thing right now that will push him to November is that the Super Delegates do not want to be shown voting against a AA.

Is there a shred of evidence to support that assertion? There are plenty of people who support Obama and/or oppose Clinton (and vice versa) purely on their records. You've made an awfully big assumption, especially given that there are plenty of non-racist and non-sexist reasons to support one candidate or the other.

His lack of experience will be his downfall in Congress and the Senate.

Experience is helpful only to the extent that it informs judgment. Bush had one of the most "experienced" groups around him in history. We see how that turned out. And Clinton, with her 29 years of "experience" at the time by her calculations, still voted for the Iraq war.

Lincoln had even less experience than Obama has. Most people think he did a satisfactory job.

rkw said...

Yam - I've got a question for you.

Your argument seems to be that HRC will get 240 of the roughly 317 remaining delegates (assuming FL & MI seat full delegations). Actually there are 316 left now, but I'll live with the 317 number for the moment. That means that you concede that BO will get about 77 of those 317.

Let's assume that BO will get at least 30 delegates from the SD, MO and PR primaries. I think that is low, but let's go ahead and give that a whirl. In that scenario HRC would get about 56 delegates from those three contests.

So, to get the 240 total delegates you predict HRC will get, it would take about 184 SDs and/or uncommitted MI delegates to get to that 240 threshhold that you predict.

So, it seems that you believe there are 184 currently uncommitted delegates that will go for HRC.

Well, if that is the case, why don't they just come out and endorse her now? If they did, it would effetively erase BHOs lead if you don't count MI & FL and it would clearly put her in the lead if you do.

In fact, it might well turn out that if there are that many potential HRC endorsements left, she might not need the MI & FL delegations. She might be able to win this on her own by running the table in SD, MO and PR.

To me, it makes no sense why those 184 HRC leaners would all sit out there and let their gal potentially lose. And why wouldn't they endorse her now, before we get to the RBC meeting? Why would they let it appear that their gal is going to lose? What are they afraid of? What would make them endorse in June as opposed to now?

Looking forward to your answer.

The mistakes, gaffe and other things you mention are part of the Campaign. Everybody makes mistakes, as BHO would readily acknowledge.

From the vitriol thrown at her by the Liberal Media and BHO's supporters, the Party is irrevocably split between

Her supporters: Most women, working, older Whites and Latino Americans (I consider the 55%) and

His supporters: Most Blacks, college kids, "the ill-educated Affluent" Whites (I consider the 45%).

Ideologically between the Moderate Centrists of the Party Vs the FAR LEFT Liberals of BHO, Kerry, Kennedy, Dukakis and Mondale.

History tells me the Minority Candidate (45% support) just cannot win the GE w/o a true support from the Clintons, the bona-fide Winners of GE.

You're convinced your gal is going to get most of the 200 remaining SDs. That means I would make a donation closing in on $1,000 if you're right. If it turns out the other way, then you'll be the big supporter for the convention.

As long as the Clintons are in good health, they will be the major force in the Democratic Politics, IMO. They earned it and deserve it.

BHOs may come and go, but the Clintons are the permanent fixture of American politics, because Americans love them.

As I have said many times, the Clintons are God's Gift to America.

Hillary MUST win the Nomination because IMHO

1. She has the MOST Popular Votes ever cast in the Primaries. This does NOT show up in TDs, because of demographic inconvenience of Caucuses.

2. She has a broader coalition of Constituency: Most White women, working, older Whites and Latino Americans - the 55% IMO.

3. She has the hands on experience in the Oval Office: She has been the Co-President for 8 years; has been the sparring partner of Maestro Bill, who is one of the most successful Presidents in modern American History.

BHO is the least vetted, least experienced in National Politics. He is a novice and above all a Bleeding Liberal of the type of Mondale, Dukakis, Kerry and Kennedy, the icons of Liberal Ideology.

America cannot afford to have a Bleeding Liberal at the Top. Carter taught Americans how bad it could be.

Sure, you may not understand or agree with my logic. It's your problem!

Assuming Hillary is the Nominee, this is my prediction.

In 2004 the GE attracted nearly 121 million voters.

In 2008 we may have about 130 million voters, and about 51% of that will go to Hillary and 47% to McCain and the rest to other fringe candidates like Barr and Nader etc.

Because the possibility of the First Woman POTUS is really a historical event in modern American Politics.

As a new blogger on this site, I just wanted to warn you of some far-right wing republicans that pretend to be Clinton supporters. Their goal is to make us react to their incendiary comments and to their irrational suggestions. No Clinton supporter would make such stupid comments. It's just a ruse to make us turn against one another.

It will be as if a democrat goes in one of the Repubs blogs and pretends to be a "Bush supporter" and starts making unfounded claims that it would be much better if McSame showed his face with Bush more often and accepted his endorsement publicly, and supported all his policies, and ..., b/c it's the best president we've ever had (including Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, JFK, to name a few!!!). Although McSame supports most of Bush's policies, I'm sure he's not too happy to have seen him in AZ lately.
And you really need to be a republican to fall this low!!!

Let's turn our focus to the failed policies that McCain is supporting, let's try to find anything that will prove him wrong come the GE. Let's find all the instances he lied in (like "it's naive and shows inexperience to want to talk to rogue state leaders" when he's the one who said that we would have to talk to Hammas couple years ago).

You know, many say that McCain has a lot of experience, well let's focus on the fact that if that's the argument they're basing their choice on, then I would really not vote for someone whose decisions (which as they claim must be based on his previous, extensive experience) has sent over 4,000 soldiers to be killed in Iraq, and tens of thousands to come back injured, has spent almost a trillion dollars on an illegitimate war instead of spending it on Healthcare, education, or relieving the victims of Katrina...

Clinton has to go I agree, but let's not focus on her, and do as our leader and future president did so well, and... IGNORE her!!!

However, we need to make sure we send McSame back to AZ for his retirement.

Fox News reported that it was a graat uncle at Buchenwald.

If that is the case, I wouldn't think it would be in the Clinton campaign's interest to try to make hay out of it.

If nothing else, it highlights the fact that Obama can point to relatives who served in the military.

OK, I can now safely make a prediction on the outcome of the May 31 Rules Committee meeting, on the basis of what Donna Brazil said on CNN. The fix appears to already be in.

The delegations from FL and MI will be seated at the convention. They will not however, have the power to overturn the results of the primary.

Unfortunately for some Yammers, the final number of delegates needed to clinch the nomination will remain as 2026. There will be no increase in the number of delegates required because of the addition of FL and MI.

It will all be over by June 4th.

The site has some impact, as sometimes the viral emails are changed a bit in their 'facts' so they're not as easily debunked. Case in point - The viral email discussed at:

originally stated the WW II Memorial in DC was located in Arlington Cemetery (that's the version I originally saw), but was later changed to read "on the Mall" after the error was pointed out by UL&F.

DNC Lawyers: Can't fully seat FL and MI

DNC lawyers have weighed in on the FL & MI debacle:

A Democratic Party rules committee has the authority to restore delegates from Michigan and Florida but not fully seat the two states at the convention as Hillary Rodham Clinton wants, according to a party analysis.

Party rules require that the two states lose at least half of their convention delegates for holding elections too early, Democratic National Committee lawyers wrote in a 38-page memo.

The memo was sent late Tuesday to the 30 members of the party's Rules and Bylaws Committee, which plans to meet Saturday to consider the fate of convention delegates from the two states. The party is considering plans to restore at least some of the delegates to make sure the two important general election battlegrounds will be included at the nominating convention in August.

The analysis lays out merits on all sides of the argument of how many delegates should be seated and how they should be divided. And it underscores a prickly problem — if the Rules and Bylaws Committee decides to restore any of the states' delegates, there is not a simple way to divide them between Clinton and Barack Obama. - AP

Something tells me that the Yammerer is not going away for two weeks. Two weeks would mean he/she/it will be gone until June 10 or so.

However, the Yammerer has been telling us for how many weeks that he/she/it is a delegate at the Texas State Convention? That convention will be held June 6 and 7, or before his/her/its 'two weeks of coast-to-coast travel' are over. No sane person would want to return on the 5th (9 days of travel) and immediately turn around to go to the state convention. Besides, what happens if the travel plans are disrupted, and arrival back home would be delayed. Arrival on the 6th wouldn't be good.

Either he/she/it is not a delegate to the state convention, or he/she/it is not going to be gone for two weeks - in either case, he/she/it is a liar (but does that surprise anyone here?).

Or maybe he/she/it is laying low for a while now that the nomination will be locked down in just a matter of days.

Nah - that last theory doesn't hold, as he/she/it isn't sane enough to keep quiet that long.

Obama is missing two of the most important things about running against Republicans.

First is Fiscal responsibility. This is what won over huge amount of "Regan Democrats" They bought into a more efficient government because the Democrats wanted so spend large amounts of cash.

We are now in the opposite positions. Obama has to point out Clinton had a balanced budget then the republicans trashed it. That Republican administration wasted outrageous amounts of cash while neglecting the country.

The other position Obama is missing out on from Mccain is Republicans lied amount WMD. There was no weapons, and now they are barking about Iran might have WMD. Mccain is pushing for a war in Iran.

Obama should really come out and say "I will do everything in my power to stop nukes in Iran, but I wont LIE to you. Obama should hit republican every chance he can't on the fact they lied about the war in Iraq, and that Obama will always be honest with the American people at all times.

Just my opinons wanted to see what people thought.

Mike in Maryland said...

Auntie Jean,

So you think the current map at http://www.electoral-vote.com is reflective of what the final results will be in the General Election?

Would you agree that Senator Clinton's strongest supporters (in terms of numbers, not physical strength) are women?

And would you agree that most women would not be in favor of overturning Roe v. Wade?

We've heard over and over and over that a lot of Senator Clinton's supporters (can we presume that a lot of those supporters are women?) will vote for Senator McCain if Senator Clinton doesn't win the Democratic nomination. Would you agree that that proclaimed intention to vote for Senator McCain is reflected in the current state-be-state breakdown on that EC map?

Now reconcile the above with this:
John McCain is solidly pro-life and has been opposing abortions during his whole Senate career. His Website proudly states that he wants to overturn Roe v. Wade and ban abortions. But poll after poll shows that most women do not know this, including women who support Hillary Clinton and say that they will vote for McCain if Clinton is not the Democratic nominee.

Are you and other women who are supporting Senator Clinton willing to cut off your nose to spite your face if she doesn't win the nomination?

I believe that the vast majority of women who currently support Senator Clinton are more than intelligent enough to realize that when the nomination process ends within the next 15-20 days, it will be fruitless and counter-productive to continue the battle.

I also believe that they will eventually realize that a vote for Senator McCain is more than foolish. That act would be close to suicidal for the advancement of the rights of women.

Therefore, I believe that the vast majority of women who currently support Senator Clinton will NOT vote for Senator McCain (even though they currently say they will), and when they decide to vote for the Democratic nominee, you'll see quite a few changes in the map at http://www.electoral-vote.com .

Hillary's Last Hope

A couple of things struck me about that article:

Harold Ickes -- former assistant chief of staff in the Clinton White House -- is a paid adviser to the Clinton campaign. . . .

And

. . . committee member Eric Kleinfeld's law firm -- Ryan, Phillips, Utrecht & MacKinnon -- is general counsel for the Clinton campaign. Federal Election Commission reports show payments from the Clinton campaign to both Ickes and Kleinfeld's law firm.

And

Records show that Ickes' voter databank company, Catalist, has been paid by both the Clinton and Obama campaigns.

Sounds to me that there is a LOT of conflict of interest on the parts of Ickes and Kleinfeld. And there probably won't be any way available to make sure they are recused from the meeting, thus not involved in the decision because of that CoI.

Mike

Peter said...

Re Mike

They have a conflict of interest, no doubt about it. But the RBC har 28 members from what I know, 13 Clinton supporters, 8 Obama and 7 uncomitted. The 7 is most likely quite loyal to the DNC. I also think most of those 13 Clinton-supporters have a more neutral standpoint than Ickles, so you won`t have 13 members of RBC trying to go through fire for Clinton.
But Ickles, Kleinfeld and probably a couple of others, should NOT be on the RBC. In my opinion people who clearly have a conflict of interest should not be able to participate in such an important decision, especially when we know Ickles would say and do anything for Clinton.
But in all fairness, I think RBC will come up with a relative fair solution, probably a little more pro-clinton solution than it should be but that is ok at this point. Giving Clinton a little bit (10-30 net delegates) more than she should have, is better than her making all kinds of wild claims for months.

So wait let me understand your argument correctly. Women won't vote for Obama, but Black will vote for Hillary? Roe vs Wade is much more important to the feminist movement then anything Mccain wants to do to the civil rights movement.

Hunny, you clearly don't have an understanding of the Black community. They view Hillary as a racist! Does not matter if she is or is not. This is their perception of her. And the same way uneducated white voters "jean" won't vote for Obama because he "scares" them blacks will not show up for Hillary. My best friend(black) is constantly asking me what Hillary really said because he hears "Did you hear that racist thing Hillary said" or "Hillary wants Obama shot" This is the way they see it. Right or wrong.

I have been told by droves of blacks that they simply will not support Hillary, and honestly the way she has conducted herself the last 4 weeks I will most likely never vote for her again period.

However it appears according to Hillarys campaign their votes are worth less.

jean - "yousri Hillary will never go for Michigan 69-59. He souldn't get any.Or at the very least split his with everyone except Hillary. Jean"

Hillary may not have a choice, Obama delegates and Howard Dean people can force it through. Also they have to seat the delegates in half according to a memo today written by Democratic Lawyers. Hillarys attempt to destroy Obama, and possibly the Democratic party is going to result in the destruction of her, and her husbands reputation.

Hillary being the better candidate is a fiction

anyone else find it odd the Republican hack jobs, like Murdoch, Hannity, Rush, Karl Rove and many others. Geraldine Ferraro is on Hannity talking about how Obama is a sexist. The Democrats should really think about revoking her super delegate status after November. She is getting ready to betray the DNC because her girl simply was rejected by America.

Remember Hillary was rejected by the Democrats. It is only worse in the generals. The Republicans have a vested interest in seeing Hillary self destruct and attempt to kill the Democratic Party.

The true test of Hillarys destructiveness is if she goes independent. I really think she may go this route due to her own selfishness.

DNC laywers have analysed the rules and they say a 50% penalty is a minimum. I think we can say that this will be the minimum penalty, because the majority of RBC is loyal to DNC, don`t expect any mutiny.
A 50% cut would mean Obama will be less than 100 delegates away no matter what happens, he will probably be somewhere around 80 delegates away, this would mean Clintons best solution...
I would think he would get something like 10 superdelegates before next tuesday, that would probably put him around 30-35 delegates short of the nomination after PR, SD and MT.

I think we will have 2-3 scenarios at that point.
1. Clinton concedes before superdelegates endorse
2. 30-35 superdelegates endorse Obama, including people like Dean, Pelosi, Carter and others. Clinton would be forced to either concede or "take it to the convention". If she says he she will take it to the convention, I will expect a lot of superdelegates switching from Clinton to Obama to show her that we need to unite and give our support to Obama. I such a thing happens, I would expect CA-supers to be the ones who lead the way.

FYI ... In 2006, an amendment was introduced to the Senate that would increase pell grants, increas funds for student aid programs and job training programs. This expense would be paid for by closing 6.2 billiion dollars in corporate tax loopholes. The Senate vote was 50 for and 50 against. McCain and all but two of the other Republicans voted against it. All the Democrats voted for it.

This is the reason why nobody in the middle class should ever vote Republican. McCain voted to protect corporate tax loopholes instead of increasing education benefits. If you look through the government website, you'll see he has sold out the middle class in favor of the rich over and over again.

Hi, I'm new to the site, but find it very informative and interesting. There is something that I don't see a lot of discussion about, and thought I could start it up.

I have been voting for 30 years, and never have voted anything but Democrat. It has always appeared to me that this is the only party that an intelligent free-thinking and caring human could logically choose.

I have been a fan of Mr. Obama since his speech at the DNC, where he both inspired and impressed me. In fact I voted for him in my state's primary.
However, watching him, his campaign, and his attitude, I am no longer in his "camp". The reasons are not really important to what I want to address here.

I, and numerous people I have heard from, are now considering not voting democrat for the first time in our lives should Mr. Obama win the nomination. This is not sour grapes since I did not support Mrs. Clinton at any point until now. According to CNN, a large number of Clinton supporters will not vote for Obama in the general election, but a majority of Obama supporters would vote for Clinton.

It appears to me that should Obama win the nomination, the Democratic party stands a chance of loosing the election. Thoughts anyone?

Obama is now 46 delegates away from 2026, this number will change after RBC has had their say, but the number Obama needs to reach 2026 is close to what he will get from PR, SD and MT. The question is if they will announce enough superdelegates to let him get to the "magic" new number after RBC has had their say. I think SD and MT getting him to the "magic" number would be the best possible way to make Clinton end this as quick and as clean as possible. through

A lot of that rhetoric is due to passive racism. The core of Clinton's supporters are bigots and feminists. The bigots will not vote for Obama because of his race. They do not know, nor do they care, about his politics. Many whites today don't think they are racists. Their problem with blacks "they just don't try hard enough to succeed." They kid themselves that if blacks would stay in school and work hard, there would be no race problems in America. Then along comes Barack Obama, a highly educated, self motivated black man and these people are scrambling to find any reason to hate him. Truth is, many white Americans feel just as threated by a black man with alot of education as they do by a black man with no education. Both are viewed as having the potential to take something away from them. So while they pretend they are not racists, they really just want blacks to succeed only enough so that they don't feel threatened.

As for the feminists, their threat to vote for McCain is an empty one. They may stay home for the GE but they'd never vote for a man who may load up the supreme court with conservatives who in turn might overturn Rowe vs Wade.

More Obama supporters would vote for Clinton because more of those who support Obama really care about the state our country is in. They know that both Obama or Clinton would do a better job as president than McCain but feel that, based on the character that has been displayed by both candidates, Obama is the much better choice.

Does that clear things up for you?

I am truly puzzled and hope someone can give me some guidance about a conundrum I can not figure out.

Everyone is now focused on the RBC about Michigan and Florida. In Florida, at least there were the two names on the ballot, so one can argue that both candidates had a fair shot at the voters.

But in Michigan, with only one name on the ballot, how can the listed candidate count all of the votes she received and count "0" for the other, unlisted candidate? The last time I remember hearing of this kind of vote counting was during the Stalin era, when the Russian dictator held "elections" and ended up with virtually 100% of the votes!

Can someone please explain this counting logic that gives 100% of cast votes to one candidate and "0" to the other?

Thanks,
Harriold

I am disappointed that you say you have voted for Democrats for 20 years but now suddenly Obama carries himself improperly? I really do not get what Obama has done that no other Democrat in your life has caused.

The only thing I see is that he won't change the rules for Hillary. Most of the sexism and elitest claims are from Hillarys spin machine which is nothing but lies.

Some how I have a problem believing someone who actually is loyal to the party would suddenly sell them out during, when the country needs them most. Anyone who would do that is really not a democrat at all.

And I will enjoy watching all the women, and supposed democrats watch as they lose everything they have faught so hard for. Just because they voted out of anger or racism or whatever other excuse they could use to sell out their own beliefs.

Well, thats just a big lie and its easy to prove that its a lie. Look here:
Realclearpolitics average nationally:

The problem is that a lot of her supporters don`t care about her lies and we need a lot of those supporters in the fall.

The faster she is out, the faster the party can unite and Obama would increase his support in the within the party. Lies like this, makes that process more difficult.

I'm trying hard to not belittle one candidate for the other, but the contention from the Clinton camp that Barack Obama should only get some small number of delegates from Michigan seems silly. The trouble with Clinton and lying is that she does not know when she is lying. I think she truly believes she has had the same level of "experience" that her husband (the real president) had. I suspect she truly believes that she's ahead in every poll, and simply turns her gaze elsewhere when confronted with facts.
It's a lot like Bush and his lies, which he appears to believe as he delivers them daily - it's habit forming, too, apparently. Even Bill has shown a bit of this pathology, lately (enhanced by short term memory loss). Her lying might be akin to a disease - from being too close to power for too long and the notion that Bill and she *are* the Democratic party and "if we say it's so, then it must be so", regardless of the facts, video, or other documentary evidence.

I think there will be some Hillary supporters who will not vote for Obama as a penalty for beating her, but more of them will realize after hard feelings die down, he is far closer to Hillary's ideas than anyone else, vote for their own interests and pull the lever for him.

It's hard to discuss anymore without you giving "reasons are not really important to what I want to address here". Perhaps you can tell us who's policies are more in line with your own than Obama's.

I agree that i counter protest is not a good idea, but i kind of react to your bias here. Why do you "attack" the counter protest and not the original protest?

protactinium said...

Jean you proved my point. You will not vote on issues just emotion. For such an educated voter you think you would do whats right for the country.

As for Obamas extreme liberal positions you must have a short memory.

The term was used by the vast "right wing conspiracy" against the Clintons. Obviously you will just take up any talking point.

I really hoped this election people would vote on issues and not their own personal baggage. But I was wrong. Republican in the end of the day are right a lot of the time.

Republican are team players and good at the process. They attack the other candidate personally to make people dislike them, and they know people are typically too stupid to figure out the issues.

Obviously once again Hillary supporters are proving the Republicans right. By not being team players, and doing whatever they can to harm their own candidate.

However I am starting to truly believe Hillary is doing all this to run as an independent. Hillary cares nothing for the Democratic party and has made that abundantly clear. The faster the democrats get away from the Clintons the better.

Bill costed Al gore the election. Bill costed the democrats the house and senate. Now Hillary is trying to cost Obama the election. Democrats have paid way to much to have them in their party.

SUSA only use Romney here, three Obama tickets is trailing by single digits. Gore, Clinton and Edwards, Edwards is the best again, the margin is 3%. This is the seventh SUSA poll where Edwards-Obama is the best democratic ticket.

Boy that is the truth. The headline yesterday about Obama banking three dozen supers just made me cringe. The more he can score before PR the closer he is to the clinch.

Also, by releasing a wave of three dozen, that could generate another. Or break loose the California switchers if that is not part of the first wave.

Also it is a bigger victory if he clinches with the last primary without and needs no additional superdelegates to "put him over the top" and a little extra margin would help. e.g. with no more supers at all it would be a squeaker to get 46 purely out of the primaries. At least another 10 or so should put him up to 2035-40

That's what I don't understand about most republicans. They tend to vote against their own interests.
That's why when you see their constituencies, it's usually rural, less-educated middle class, or poor people. They also attract the majority of the rich, which makes sense, because they're the business owners, they're the ones who opt for lower federal taxation.

Re Jean

You didn`t answer my question. Why do you "attack" the counter-protest idea and not the original protest? The original protest is not just against DNC it is against Obama and is a divisive protest....

I agree, DNC is partly to blame here put first of all the ones responsible for moving MI and FL are the ones who should recieve the most blame here.

Neither Obama nor Clinton should get any blame her. I think the biggest problem here, is that Clinton is trying to put a lot of blame and negativity towards Obama, that makes uniting the party more difficult. She has lost no matter what happens on saturday, if she had the party and us winning as top priority she would lessen her attacks a bit. Blaming Obama for this mess, is just wrong and don`t do any good at all.

Both Obama and Clinton wants those delegates seated. Clinton is not the "saviour" here at all.
But you also need some form of punishment here, because we don`t need a similar situation in the future where states move there primary ahead of schedule.

Hello there:

I have been reading a lot on this site!

Only today I ventured into diving into the water!

My opinion is this site is infested with more of Obamaniacs than others.

Anyway, here is my take on this Nomination of the Democratic Party.

Till recently, I used be a member of the Party; lately the Party has moved away from me. Last two years, the Democrats rule the Congress, but nothing has really happened about the War or the Economy. The approval rating is about 18%, while Bush gets 28%. In 2006, Americans gave a chance to the Dems to do the right thing. But nothing happened. Pelosi and Reed are as useless as any other politician in Washington DC.

Coming back to the Nomination:

1. Obama is the least known guy in the heartland of America. He is known among the Blacks and college kids, some "college-educated" crowd. That's it.

2. His tenure at IL Legislature shows that he was a very liberal politician mostly voting with the villains and not the victims in crime & punishment.

He is for income and wealth redistribution, rather than creating new wealth in America.

3. His experience in and understanding of the ways of how US Govt works are very paltry and very lacking: he started campaigning just after 6 months in the US Senate.

4. His lack of understanding of the foreign policy and National Security matters make me feel that America will be worse of with Obama.

5. His friends are very Far Left Liberals like Kerry, Kennedy and Carter.

Therefore, America must Stop Obama Now.

America needs a well known well experienced Leader to lead the country during a very turbulent times of our Union.

Stop Obama Now.

Then you tell us you're not a fan of that "Million Dollar Gal", but really ask no question.

If the conversation you hope to start is "why will 'numerous people you've heard from' (your wife and daughter, perhaps?) consider voting not democratic for the first time?"...then perhaps you can ADD to the conversation by sharing with us the details behind your lack of satisfaction with our eventual nominee.

Here's looking forward to hearing back from you - and with the strongest wishes that your arguments and positions have more meat on the bones than some recently departed(?) contributors.

"Again, again, again, HRC will not get the nomination.
Can you open your mind that a correction NEEDS to be made.
The DNC will do it. Not HRC.
If HRC was winning it would have to be done."

Jean you drinking that kool-aid?

Obama signed off on an agreement. For him to get the undecided in Mi, and fl delegates to be halved.(The same thing the DNC lawyer said was the mininium)

So what is Hillary doing? organizing a protest and demanding she get all the delegates and Obama from MI, and to get the full delegates in FL. and nothing else is expectable. She wants to take this to the convention.

Obama is trying to solve it. Hillary is the problem.
