Clinton "on track" for Sec State

WE'VE MOVED! Democratic Convention Watch is now at http://www.DemocraticConventionWatch.com

The chatter tonight is that it's now a done deal:

ABC News can report that former President Bill Clinton's financial disclosure issues that once seemed an obstacle to Sen. Hillary Clinton's appointment as secretary of state have been worked out.

An aide to President-elect Obama says that everything is on track for Clinton's nomination to be the nation's top diplomat, though an announcement will not come until after Thanksgiving. -ABC
President-elect Barack Obama plans to name Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) as his secretary of state shortly after Thanksgiving, two senior Obama aides said.

The officials said they expect her to accept. Clinton aides had no comment. - Politico
Also tonight, our thoughts are with Attorney General Michael Mukasey and his family; Mukasey collapsed during a speech Thursday night and was being taken to a hospital. - AP

I don't believe it. I don't believe that senior Obama aides have talked. Obama said yesterday that anyone 'leaking' would be tossed out. I don't believe that senior aides are going to risk their jobs. Looks like all rumor to me.

Some leaks are authorized. If its truly a done deal, then it would make sense to leak it so there's no more controversy about it.

How come we haven't heard anything about Bill Richardson? Bill went to Chicago the day AFTER Hillary did to meet with Obama in Chicago. What's up with that? How come no leaks about Richardson? Has anyone heard anything?

sadly cnn says the leaks are coming from obamas transition, not clinton, so it must be trial ballooning.

Regarding Mukasey ... UPDATE as per WSJ...
Mr. Mukasey appeared to be somewhat alert as he was carried on a stretcher by District of Columbia fire department medics. He was heard to say he thought he had fainted. A medic could be heard to tell the attorney general "just relax."
He was taken to George Washington University Medical Center and appeared to be alert and in good condition, according to the D.C. Fire Department.

Shame on Obama....he is no different from the populist leaders of Asian countries. Is this the change he was talking about....the same Clintons and Washington insiders for key jobs??

I can say, though premature, this guy is turning out to be a dissapointment.

sammy, if you are old enough to remember the last two democratic admins, they came in with a crowd of outsiders from georgia and arkansas, respectively, with great hopes and no inside experience, and they lost most of their "honeymoon" fixing social and protocol errors. Obama will help us bring the change we need with a few republicans and several democrats who have inside experience and can get things done.he is bringing in the best and the brightest, adn a few folks who have never served in any admin, but mostly seasoned pros, because he understands that seasoned professionals, not brownies, are needed to run the govt.

the change comes from the top and the bottom, obama will guide us from a calm cool collected perspective guided by brilliance, and we will guide him by letting him know what is and isnt working the minute anything seems to be going off track. if you are disappointed in obama already, you are in the tiny minority, even most republicans are optimistic and confident that obama will be able to be a strong and effective leader!

Big mistake. He should keep the poison out of his New Era Administration. The Clinton's always have their own agenda. Hers is to become president. When choosing a cabinet you need to pick people who have complete commitment to the presidents agenda. She will betray him when it suits her.

i think you need to look at the model obama is drawing from, lincoln and his team of rivals. he sees hillary as a rival who shares much of his vision and understands that undercutting her president will not further her career.

There is a lot to be said for a person that takes the saying: "keep your friends close and your enemy even closer".

I don't see Client as an enemy but I do think she bares watching

i think the pissing out of the tent quote is better for the clintons, because they are certainly not enemies to the overall goals of obama.

The problems with the Clintons though is summed up with another pithy saying:

"The problem with letting the camel get his nose in the tent is, pretty soon you get the rest of the camel, too."

I can believe it! America gets what if voted for........HA HA HA (at my expence and yours too). The perdiction of H. Clinton being nominated for Sec. of State comes true and all his little puppet masters of "CHANGE" are all the SAME people that have been employed BEFORE. I wonder how long it will take for all of his terrorist friends to come out of the closet now. Come on out his party has started. Open your eyes America and hold on to your penut butter sandwiches because class has not even started. I am scared to death of what the playground at lunchtime will look like.

obama has all the clinton people, so where is the change? is it because he,obama lacks the know how, to be President of this great country?
