Jackie Norris Named Chief of Staff for the First Lady

Incoming first lady Michelle Obama has tapped Jackie Norris, President-elect Barack Obama's Iowa state director to be her chief of staff. Norris, a high school government and history teacher and long-time Iowa Democrat, was former vice president Al Gore's Iowa political director in the 2000 presidential campaign and was finance director for former Iowa governor Tom Vilsack in 1998.
We're keeping track of all of the Presidential Appointments that require Senate Confirmation as well as Presidential Appointments Not Needing Confirmation, as well as Cabinet rumors.

Ms. Norris is very competent and also a very thoughtful person and will do a great job in this position. She did a great job of helping Obama win the Iowa caucus and also in keeping the organization together to ensure the pickup of additional delegates there at the County and District conventions when the nomination race was still ongoing.
