Cabinet: Attorney General

WE'VE MOVED! Democratic Convention Watch is now at

I know, you all want to play Secretary of State, and yes, we’ll get there. But we all have our issues, and one of mine is the reversal of what has happened to the rule of law in America. The United States is a country founded on the rule of law, and the Baby Bush administration evisceration of rights, laws, and morality has been extreme.

As per the website of the Attorney General:

The Judiciary Act of 1789 created the Office of the Attorney General which evolved over the years into the head of the Department of Justice and chief law enforcement officer of the Federal Government. The Attorney General represents the United States in legal matters generally and gives advice and opinions to the President and to the heads of the executive departments of the Government when so requested. In matters of exceptional gravity or importance the Attorney General appears in person before the Supreme Court. Since the 1870 Act that established the Department of Justice as an executive department of the government of the United States, the Attorney General has guided the world's largest law office and the central agency for enforcement of federal laws.
I want a REAL AG, someone who will respect the Constitution, enforce the laws, and prosecute all the members of the Baby Bush administration and related cronies who deserve it. I’d list them, but I’m pretty sure there’s a space limitation for blog posts, and I’d ram right through it.

Sadly, John Edwards, due to his immoral dalliances, is not on the list. If the affair could be overlooked (which it cannot) he would be a great choice. He knows the law, he has courtroom experience, which means he can pick juries, and therefore could select a great upper staff. He was a tenacious tiger in the courtroom, and has shown a great ability to find just the right section of laws to win his cases.
