DSCC Airs New T.V. Spot Criticizing Chambliss' Votes Against S-CHIP

Just over a year ago, U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss (R - Georgia) cast two votes that are now being spotlighted in a new ad by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) now airing on Georgia television.

The votes cast by Chambliss were against re-authorizing the State Children's Health Insurance Program (S-CHIP), the parent program for Georgia's popular PeachCare for Kids health insurance plan [Source: Senate Roll Call Vote #403; and #307].

PeachCare for Kids is a comprehensive health care program for uninsured children living in Georgia. The health benefits include primary, preventive, specialist, dental care and vision care.

Chambliss defended his votes against S-CHIP during a stop in Dalton, Georgia last November saying that he supported the program ten years ago when it was first put in place.

"I still support it," Chambliss said. [Source: Chattanooga Times-Free Press, "Chambliss makes stop in Dalton", November 5, 2007]
