Senate Update - Courtesy of the NRSC

WE'VE MOVED! Democratic Convention Watch is now at http://www.DemocraticConventionWatch.com

John Ensign (R-NV), chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, as in "in charge of getting them elected", has ceded the Senate races in New Mexico and Virginia.

He told the WSJ that:

“You don’t waste money on races that don’t need it or you can’t win.”

And I'm betting he means the latter.....

McCain can't be happy with Ensign conceding the Senate races in two states that McCain needs to win. That means that McCain and the RNC will need to put more money into those two states since the RSSC will not be helping out on expenses of the field operations. If the RSSC money ends up being spent in states like Kentucky, Alaska, and Oregon (where McCain and the RNC are unlikely to spend much money), the Republicans are going to find themselves for the first time in history at a major financial disadvantage in terms of paying for the field operation.
