Clinton at the Convention?

WE'VE MOVED! Democratic Convention Watch is now at http://www.DemocraticConventionWatch.com

Terry McAuliffe told Morning Joe that Hillary will likely speak at the convention on Tuesday night.

Last week, Terry told a Virginia audience that Tim Kaine would be Obama's best choice as running mate.

I won't vote for Obama unless Clinton is selected as V. P. I think he needs someone that is smart enough to guide him and lots of imput on how to run the country. I think he thinks so much of himself that he doesn't give a darn about the people or their wants or NEEDS that includes the people fighting for the country.

Assuming you are a Democrat, and believe in the ideals of the Constitution, human rights, civil rights, no torture, end the war, improve the economy and the environment -- PLEASE explain to me HOW you could EVEN CONSIDER doing ANYTHING that would give us a third term of the Bush administration.

How do you do that to all of us and our children and still sleep at night?

I will vote for Obama no matte what ... but if Clinton is on the ticket I'd have to hold my nose while voting. Senator Obama is much more smarter than HRC. He knows how to run a campaign, manage money, and pick the right people to advise him - these are three things that Hillary did not do correctly. Therefore her judgment was poor while his instead was much better. I hope that Obama does not have Hillary advising him on anything of importance. As far as the NEEDS of our soldiers - Obama has done 100 times more for our troops than Hillary ever has. OBAMA '08

And I'll split the difference: I don't think Clinton is the best VP choice for a variety of reasons. But she would make a great Secretary of Defense.

I don't know why everybody is clamoring for Clinton to be VP. She has decided that she could do more in the Senate anyways. Plus, putting her on the ticket would be the best thing to happen to John McCain during his dismal campaign. It would do something that he has been unable to do, enrage the Right Wing enough to vote anybody but Hillary. I think that she could bring Ohio into play but it would put more conservative purple states such as Virginia, Montana, Colorado, ect out of play. The point is that he can win without her, and he would damage his credibility if he picks Sen. Clinton. If Obama is all about not being the Washington insider, he couldn't make a worse VP choice than Sen. Clinton. As far as experience and input on how to run a country, the man knows his politics, and he knows how this country is run inside and out, plus I think he just is a natural born leader and he can do a better job foreign policy wise than Clinton.

I think that Obama should pick Kaine as VP. He is one of Obama's earliest supporters, He's a pretty popular governor, and he holds pretty similar views. He could help bring in the Catholic vote, and I think he could pull some of McCain's independents towards Obama. Also, if Obama can hold on to New Mexico, Michigan, Iowa, and Pennsylvania, picking up Virginia (which would be likely with Kaine) would win Obama the election.

Regarding Kaine .... I just read about him at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Kaine
And this is NOT good about Kaine: *** Tim Kaine has given his support for the mandatory vaccinating of 6th grade girls in Virginia with the HPV vaccine and has recently signed a bill to that effect.***
The better choice: Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathleen_Sebelius
