Interesting result in last nights Democratic primary in NY-26:
New York’s congressional primaries on Tuesday produced a shocker result in the contest to succeed retiring Republican Rep. Thomas M. Reynolds . Buffalo lawyer Alice J. Kryzan won the Democratic primary with a plurality of the vote, proving that party support and money are not everything. But not necessarily good news:
Kryzan won the rugged three-way race for the Buffalo-based district by defeating the party’s preferred candidate, Iraq War veteran Jon Powers as well as Jack Davis, a millionaire businessman who spent $3.6 million of his own money on the campaign. - CQ Politics
Her win could be a blow to Democrats, as Powers has already secured a line on the ballot as the unopposed Working Families Party candidate. Should Democratic voters split their votes between the two on Election Day, the battleground district could remain in GOP hands. - The Hill
